Schwinn hired Rae to hand paint their newly re-released retro Sting-Ray bike for Pride 2022. Rae utilized the colors of the trans flag, blue, pink, and white, to celebrate and draw attention to the transgender and nonbinary community.

Messages on the bike include “Trans Is Beautiful” and “Trans Powered”. Blue and pink flowers, along with green foliage cluster and float on the bike’s surface to represent the beauty, complexity, and fluidity of the transgender community.

Rae was hired by Netflix for a special collaboration with GLAAD called “First Time I Saw Me: Trans Voices”. Rae had just 45 minutes to paint each subject, while they were being interviewed on the other side of a large curtain.

Prior to this project, Rae had never painted in such intense time constraints. However, it has become a staple of what Rae offers when he travels with his art. In-person or “live painting” event portraits are an invigorating creative process that people can watch and ask questions during as they observe the artwork taking place.

RAE SENARIGHI (@transpainter) created the You Are Loved artwork for FairWisconsin and GSafe, two Wisconsin organizations working for LGBTQ+ rights throughout the state. Since June of 2021, the You Are Loved artwork has spread to over 300 locations in 33 states on billboards, countless yard signs throughout the country, as well as t-shirts and bumper stickers and has raised over $50,000 and counting.

GSAFE creates safe, affirming, and just schools for LGBTQ+ youth in Wisconsin. Fair Wisconsin is the only statewide LGBTQ+ civil rights political advocacy organization and has been at the forefront of Wisconsin LGBTQ+ civil rights advocacy and education for nearly three decades.

Rae created the artwork for Bodily Autonomy is a Human Right in response to the 2022 Supreme Court striking down Roe v. Wade.

This artwork is raising money for access to reproductive healthcare for people with uteruses through the Montana Book Company. You can read more about the importance of transgender inclusion in the fight for reproductive healthcare (including abortion access) here.

Wisconsin Public Education Network reached out to Rae to support their back to schools efforts in the summer of 2022 with the “Public Schools Unite Us” campaign.

Because public school funding and increasing access to education for underserved populations is a passion of Rae’s he jumped in to create beautiful custom typography images to use in many forms from yard signs to banners, stickers, and t-shirts.
