HOW TO REQUEST YOUR UNIQUE PORTRAIT
There are four steps to requesting this work.
Submit your commissioned work application fee and request form here. If your project is selected your application fee will be applied to your deposit. If your project is not selected it will be refunded.
Respond to email from Rae Senarighi directly requesting images and detailed information on your unique commission project and submit your deposit for the work.
Receive your portrait and complete final payment.
Enjoy your beautiful work for a lifetime.
Due to the high volume of applications I receive I am not able to paint every requested portrait. Thank you for understanding.
WHAT I NEED FROM YOU
Once I’ve selected your project, I’ll send an email request for the following:
Please provide at least 3-5 good quality reference photos of the subject with natural lighting, no flash used please. The better the picture, the better the final result. I will consider which reference photos to use from an artistic standpoint.
In order to make a portrait, a smile is not always required but the lighting and resolution (image quality) in the picture are very important. High resolution images allow me to get better detail than small images. If you don’t have professional photography help, here is a great article with photography lighting tips.
Clients are involved from beginning to end of the process so feel free to contact me for any questions or doubts.

Loose / impressionistic background or blue sky background (realistic or detailed background add 50% more)

Dimensions quoted include a portrait of one individual. Add 50% for each additional person.
Head and Shoulders (inclusion of hands, add 30% more)
COMMISSIONED WORKS FAQ
How long does a painting take to create?
I will work with your schedule to the best of my ability. Delivery usually takes approximately one month for the “Intuitive” style and between one to three months for the “Detailed” style.
Timing depends on the portrait’s size and complexity, and my fluid commission or gallery schedule. Revision requests will add to turnaround times. If you need the painting by a specific date, please indicate the date on your commission request form. Rush fees may apply.
How do you ship these paintings?
Shipping will commence upon confirmation of the buyer’s final payment. The final invoice will include all additional expenses such as crating, shipping insurance, shipping and handling, applicable sales tax, etc. Please remember to confirm to us your shipping address and provide us with your telephone number.
A tracking number will be provided to you after the shipment is effected to enable online tracking of your package. Framing is not included. Gallery wrapped paintings are shipped in custom crates / boxes that are specially designed for your artwork.
Expedited shipping ranges from 3-5 business days, and Economy Saver shipping can take up to 4 weeks for transit.
Can the painting be wrapped onto wooden stretcher bars?
Yes. Gallery wrapped canvas is an add on option. Please note this will increase the cost of shipping and handling.
Will I get a proof/preview before the portrait starts?
By default, if no instructions are provided, the artist will paint your photo exactly as it is. If the photo does not fit into the size you ordered, the portrait will be cropped to fit the size and we will ask for your approval via email preview before starting work. If you have complex or non-standard instructions, the artist may provide a photoshop mockup for you to approve so that there are no surprises with the size and positioning.
Can I replace the background in my painting?
Yes! Just upload the background photo as a second photo when configuring your item, and write in the instructions box to use the file as the background. You can also describe a color or tone in the instructions box for the artist to use if you do not have a specific background photo. Please note that choosing a detailed background will increase the price and may take more time.
Can I add or remove things?
Please write clear instructions as to what people or things you want the artist to remove on your commission request form. If you would like to add something to the photo, just upload the additional photo of that person or thing and ask the artist to add it in. Please note that adding people or a detailed background will increase the price.
Can I return my portrait? Do you refund deposits?
I don’t accept returns, exchanges, or cancellations. But please contact me if you have any problems with your order.
If by chance your artwork arrives damaged or is lost in shipment, I will file an insurance claim and provide you with a refund.
Copyright is retained by Rae Senarighi in all artistic works. Client may request a no-publish status for an additional fee. Unlimited North American Reproduction Rights available for up to an additional 100% of portrait price.
